Signed in the offseason as their backup to Eli Manning, David was 10
for 13 with 1 touchdown in their opening preseason game agaionst the
Detroit Lions.

Maybe having a good Offensive line does make a difference.

He earned $4 million last year (2007) with Carolina; his one year 2008
contract with Giants calls for $1 million.

Maybe he went to a hypnotist to forget all those sacks...

Actually I went back & read up on it.
"New York got as far as the Detroit 40, but the comeback attempt ended
when Carr was called for intentional grounding, then sacked by rookie
Andre Fluellen on the next play."
Sounds like the same ol' Carr!

Remember his string of 26 or so in a row?
I didn't realize he'd dropped to 3rd string.
I wonder if he'll make the 53 man roster?
